Administration
Principal
Ms. Lois Skaggs
It is with great pleasure that I am returning to work in my third year at Abrams Elementary School. I am excited about the positive direction our school is moving in and the partnerships that we are developing with our families and our community.
I have been an educator for 20 years. My teaching experience includes special education at elementary, middle school and high school. I am beginning my 12th year as an elementary school principal.
I believe that it is our responsibility, as educators, to work together with our families and our community to help our children to be the best that they can be. Our children are truly our future, and when we work together, we can achieve far more.
Please feel free to stop by and say hello. It is my goal to know the names of our students and to get to know our families as well. I want to talk with you, learn what is important to you, and help your children to be the best that they can be.
Assistant Principal
Mrs. Savannah Smith
I am excited to serve the students, staff, and parents at Abrams as the assistant principal.
Prior to joining the Abrams family, I worked at Mesa Elementary in FFC8 for 13 years as a classroom teacher and in Widefield District 3 for two years as a classroom teacher and interventionist. These experiences taught me the importance of building relationships with students and the value of working as a team to support the whole student.
I am a Colorado Springs native and love the beautiful state of Colorado! I completed my undergraduate degree at Colorado Mesa University where I studied Elementary Education and Social Sciences in 2006 and then my master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2022. During my time teaching, I met my husband and became a step mom to his son, who now serves in the U.S. Navy.
I am passionate about the important role schools play in shaping how children see themselves. I believe what when educators are working together with families and communities, to help out students, all children be successful. I am looking forward to getting to know the students and families at Abrams!
